Cathy’s discovery works wonders for consumers wanting whiter teeth without breaking the bank.

W ith the recession in full swing, many consumers are turning to the internet to take advantage of special offers allowing them to save hundreds of dollars. Cathy, an ordinary, modest mom from Santa Cruz, CA is one such consumer. Cathy recently discovered a clever way of combining two different teeth whitening offers from two different companies–Dazzle White Pro and Vibrant Whitening–to get one full “super” whitening, comparable to what you might attain at a local dentist for $400 or more, using nothing but free trial* offers and paying just a few dollars in shipping charges.

Cathy: “I’m just a mom who figured out a system that works better than all the expensive whitening treatments the dentist tries to get you to pay for (you know, the ones that didn’t work?).”

Cathy’s story of how she wound up with yellow teeth sounds all too familiar to some:

Well, honestly, I did quite a few things that probably contributed to my yellow teeth. I love a glass of red wine, I’m an avid coffee drinker, and, most regrettably, I started smoking way back in college when I was about 21 years old. I smoked for just over 10 years before finally quitting, and although I’m very happy I did quit, I was disappointed that my teeth really didn’t recover. Finally, I was self employed for many years and had little or no dental coverage. I can’t claim to have brushed twice a day every single day, but I honestly think I was usually pretty good about it… and I didn’t see any improvement, no matter how many “whitening toothpastes” I tried. Anyway, long story short, the coffee (couple cups a day), red wine here and there, and about ten years of smoking made my teeth something I was ashamed of.

…I’m not a rich woman and didn’t think I could afford it. But after looking around online, my son helped me find a few special offers (and coupon codes) where you could try the product by only paying a few dollars for shipping. That allowed me to get two different products–completely free!* icon smile Exploiting The Deception: A Moms Trick to Whiter Teeth? . My idea was that I’d just use one first and once I ran out I’d switch to the other, and that’s exactly what I did. The results were good with the first product alone, but what I hadn’t expected was that when I followed it with the second, I noticed improvements in parts of my teeth that the other product hadn’t affected, or had only slightly improved. Like I said, I’m no doctor or medical expert, but it appears that each of the separate products focus on DIFFERENT parts of the problem, or that the second one just gave the whitening enough of a “boost” that it finished the job! By using them both in a row I was able to get even better results, and because they both had these crazy special offers, AND I found coupon codes for them, I was able to do the whole thing by just paying a few dollars in shipping charges* (the shipping was $1.97 on Dazzle White Pro and $0.97 on the other).

Cathy: “I not only found products that gave me results better than I would have expected from my dentist, but after researching online I discovered that these online teeth whitening companies are desperate for new customers in this recession and are currently handing out free trials* of their products.”

But Cathy didn’t stop there—after finding the two special offers, Cathy made use of the kind of ingenuity many consumers have turned to during this recession, and obtained special coupon codes that reduced the shipping charges to next to nothing on each. But Cathy didn’t stop there—after finding the two products, Cathy made use of the kind of ingenuity many consumers have turned to during this recession, and obtained special discount codes that reduce the shipping charges on each of them to under $1.99–making it possible to get them both delivered for under $3 total.* ($1.99 on the first product, $0.97 on the second)

Most clever, perhaps, is the fact that combining two different products, and using them one after another, allowed Cathy to get what could effectively be described as a “super whitening” without breaking the bank.

When we asked Cathy more about her discovery, she explained:

I was surprised by the results after the first 3 days – but once I saw my teeth after a week, I was totally blown away… I knew I was onto something.

The trick is to use TWO trial products that compliment each other TOGETHER to give yourself a whitening that’s better than you ever could have expected.

Thank you to Cathy for this week’s consumer tip. Cathy has shared her discovery with thousands of people over the internet. If you’re interested in using Cathy’s trick, we’ve provided links and coupon code information below. Remember, to get results like Cathy’s, you will want to use BOTH products together. The coupon codes reduce shipping costs to under $3 total* ($1.97 for the first, $0.97 for the second, as of 07/26/2009):

Step 2: Click here for Vibrant Whitening (Use Promo Code: smile)

Now, What they don’t tell you openly is…

You will be signed up for 4 different subscriptions that you WILL be BILLED for monthly on the credit card you used to start your trial.
Here are the 4 that I was signed up for that where somewhere in the agreement that you must check in order to get the trials of Dazzle White Pro and Vibrant Whitening.

“Cancellation Information

Now thats some slick advertising! Did you see ANY of that in the website above? I’m sure its in the Agreement somewhere, but if your like most people, who reads that stuff anyways. Well thats just what they are banking on!

In my opinion its just too much of a hassle to go through to try these 2 products and the way they have these trials setup, I believe its sneaky to say the least!

Why not just give us a sample of the products? or at least just ONE subscription to evaluate, but FOUR! I say STAY AWAY FROM THESE COMPANIES!

Now did you notice the COMMENTS on that web page?

All being so positive, none mentioning the 4 subscriptions?  Then its closes due to spam!

Spam my ass, its probably due to Complaints they don’t want you to see!!!

Well I hope you found this page before you signed up for the Super savings that some house wife “yea right” turned you on too.

Just maybe I have saved a few people from this deceptive form of advertising.

I’ve seen the ad many, many times. Tonight I was looking around and decided to actually read the stupid little “feel good” article about the mom and her little “secret” to saving everyone money in these tough times. I’ve seen a lot of scams before on eBay… people trying to get you to ship stuff overseas… or trying to get your password thru “phishing”. I continued through the story and it all seemed pretty good. Then I started entering my information since I “qualified” for the offer which of course they make seem “limited”. That’s when I started getting suspicious… when they said there were “limited supplies”.

The biggest clue to a scam like this is……………….. the stupid little clock they had running in the ad… “you’ve got 5 minutes to complete this order” and the clock continues to tick down while you’re feverishly trying to finish in time. They try and get you to concentrate on beating the clock before the offer expires… or may expire. I know this ad has been around for a long time, and I know it isn’t going to run out five minute to the time I click on it. Kinda like seeing those annoying pop-ups that say “You’ve won!!! You’re the 1,000,000th person to see this ad”.

Weird thing that happened right after I let the clock run out… I opened up another window (using Firefox) to search to see if this is all a scam… and found this blog. While I was reading through all the entries here, and right about the time the offer should have expired, my computer started blinking and I couldn’t get it to shut off until I powered it down manually. Are they now resorting to viruses? Anyone else that has experienced anything similar, please post.

And as for those stupid ass women trying to defend your companies “behavior”… you’re full of it. Yeah, yeah… everyone here understands and knows somewhere in all that dribble it’s explained that you’re going to be charged an arm and a leg for products you don’t even want. It’s funny you even try and pretend like somehow it’s just some simple miscommunication, and that you guys aren’t intending to rip anyone off. If that was the case, then why not place at the very end of the “feel good mom story” that you too can try these great products for next to nothing while signing up for four trials which you’ll be billed instantly $80+.

Why not do that? Because nobody would enter their information… that’s why.

You know what? I’d love to rent an apartment to “Linda” or someone working for their fraud company and somewhere, buried in the lease… on page 17 say that if they don’t wear pink slippers and howl at the moon on Christmas Eve @ 12:01 EST, they must pay a penalty of $5,000,000 to me within 12 hours. When they come crying say “I didn’t know that was there” I’d say “But it was clearly stated in the lease… typed and everything.”

There are too many offers or contracts in our busy lives to sit there and read all the fine print… and unfortunately that’s what this sad ass company is doing… trying to take advantage of people.

Well… this is one person you didn’t get to take advantage of… you morons.

I have also been stung by these clowns, in my case to the tune of £150.00. Its time we, (the victims) fought back.
In my case the company was “Everbright Smiles”. I believe I have now managed to cancel any further monthly charges by calling their UK telephone number even though they dont give you that number in their T&C’s.
So NOTE they do have a UK company (goto their website and click on “Contact us”
Now is the time we fought back. Or at least, people in the UK can.
Firstly, I have registered a complaint with the office of Fair trading, and sent them a copy of this companies T&C’s. If the OFT get thousands of complaints, they will have to investigate.
Secondly I am about to start a small claims court action to recover the money they have scammed from me.
The cost of starting a small claims action is approx 10% of the money you are claiming.
                Why bother you may ask?
Well, I for one am quite happy to loose another £15, with a chance of getting my £150 back, But more importantly, the 10% it costs to start a small cliams action is peanuts when you consider the damage thousands of these actions would do to these scammers.
We dont need to win our case, simply the fact that thousands of these actions where being persued, would tie up there legal department, and cost them a fortune. If they dont defend, there’s a good chance the court would decide in your favour, And you just might get your money back.If they do defend, and one court anywhere in the UK decides to uphold a claim on the grounds their T&C’s were unfair, that would open the flood gates as every one else can quote that judgement.

I am so glad I came upon this site. I can’t believe I fell for this! I am usually the queen at seeing when something is a scam but this one really got me! I signed up for one, but for some reason I couldn’t sign up for the second (pretty sure God was protecting me lol) And I had an uneasy feeling so I googled it the next day (today actually) and found this and realized what I had done. I immediately checked my account and I had been charged .99 for the shipping like I had thought but nothing else had come out yet so I called my bank and had my card cancelled. Lucky for me when I signed up I just put my first and last initials and put all 0′s for my phone number lol. So they have no way of contacting me. At least I was smart enough to do that. I am so sorry to those who have been scammed by this company. I figured it’s easier just to cancel my card and get a new one in the mail 5 – 7 days later than to go through all those ppl and being put on hold for I’m sure what would have been hours and hours of nothing but frustration. I would say if you want to make sure you are 100% out of it, just cancel your card. Good luck to all!

I saw this ad and was curious. I even added the websites to my favourites but I am not one to jump at internet offers that seam too good to be true. I noticed the ad on another page only this time when I linked to it the mom was from my home town. I was surprised that they were using ip addresses to customize their story but I am suspect whenever ads come up customized for my home town. That was the final straw that for me that this was a scam. Did some reading of the terms on their site and read of the charges. Additional seaches turned up your site. thanks

I am SO glad that I found this blog!!! I, too–much like a lot of other people, was about to take the bait, when I decided to actually read the “fine print”….when I read that (paraphrasing) the story was not about a real person, but that they were rather “illustrative” whatevers about a story that didnt even exist, I began to research further. I googled “CNN” and the other shows it said it appeared on–NOTHING!!! So, then I Googled it, and found that it was a BIG FAT SCAM!!!

It makes me angry, but I am glad that I decided to follow my discernment on this! Great Blog!!

Once I realized that by paying for shipping you would be signing up for something you had to later cancel I decided not to enter my credit card information. Thank goodness I read the fine print. Thanks for this blog because I know it will help others.

                                                    Hi!

I searched for ‘what is A Mom’s Trick to Whiter Teeth’ (exactly as goofy as that, minus the backslashes which this site added) BECAUSE I was wondering how a mom from (insert city in your country here) could afford to advertise so heavily on so many websites (annoyingly so) for a discovery like that.
Never intended to sign up or anything.
Still, good to know that *A Moms Trick to Whiter Teeth* is a SCAM. (I wrote this hoping that search engines pick up on keywords :) )

I have recently decided to find a good vendor of electronic cigarettes. I’m done with paying so much for normal smokes.A friend recommended G Smoke According to their website this is how they described their product:
“Green Smoke offers supreme Electronic cigarettes with disposable cartridges that produce the highest smoke volume in the industry. With a collection of flavors and nicotine levels, Green Smoke’s™ patented technology offers convenience and performance that is unmatched. G Smoke products have been independently tested for safety.”
I’m thinking of buying them. Anyone else have experience with this e-cigarette?

There is no info on the package and no advertisement names nothing. Just a p.o. box number and I have the feeling it will come back if i try to send it back but I’m going to try…I’m so upset , I’m disabled (had spinal fusion through my stomach) I’m in so much pain and then I have to pay for this and I am not able to work right now. I have to wear a brace for 1 yr! These people are dispicable, I wish I would have read the fine print. For some reason I don’t even have any emails or contact info. I have to keep looking…I’m so glad to be here right now and I’m so sorry for everyone and it makes me so angry that we’ve all been hurt this way…but thank you for being here ?? Maureen

I am so angry I called my bank and they said they’d help and they gave me a number to call. I called it and the guy answering said, “Yeah” not hello, not this is White Titan etc…I asked him why and he said he’d been flooded with business or something. He called a number while I was on the phone with him ,after arguing my point and the woman was hard to understand and there was so much static and interference it was hard to understand her. She got my info and said she would give me the refund within 7-10 business days but that it’s not always that slow or that quick (?) Anyway my bank is putting a block up from them on my account and I’m greatful for that. So now I wait and see…this is a great website and it is what helped me the most. It had me fight back. Thank you again!! Good Luck Everyone!!

I did find this while searching on the internet last month and wanted to see if it was for real and it is. So I decided to post it on every board that is about people being scammed by teeth whitening companies.

Apparently, the owner of this company was scammed years ago and decided to start a company doing things the right way. When I called their customer service number I was speaking to American people, “Wow what a change”. They described their program the following way.

They not only sell product on Amazon, in salons and though their website, they are also allowing anyone who was scammed by a teeth whitening company the opportunity to order refill kits from them as if they were originally customers of theirs. He said that they make a dollar or so for each refill kit sold and the owner wanted to give back to any one that was scammed. They are selling refill kits for $10 each. The link to their offer page is here.

                                                                                        http://www.nicewhites.com/offers/iws/

I order last month, the gel pack arrived 5 days later, and there was no surprises. They did not bill me for additional product, etc… I think this is a great thing they are doing to help everyone else…

I received one, of the two, an it was a different name brand, than what they are supposedly offering! One thing though, I used a prepaid debit card…so, they couldn’t continue to charge me! On the same day, that I was ordering this miracle whitening, I also ordered, mom’s $5 wrinkle miracle cream, u also had to order 2 of these as well, stating the 2 gave u such outstanding results, when used 2gether. I received one, of the 2, an it also was of a different name brand, than they were offering. But with One of these, it wouldn’t take my prepaid debit card… Hmm wonder why! Then I ordered, mom makes $7,000 amonth, never leaving her home…It was supposedly the starter kit, teaching u how to set up websites for selected companies on the list, an u could choose which company…I was only ordering the trial version, I think it was like $5.95, they charged my card $49.95…I finally got a rep on the phone, after about, an hour of being transfered, an disconnected…the rep told me, that I did order the $49.95, an she couldnt refund my money. I told the rep, that I was writing a paper for school, on Scams like this, an she hung up on me! I have yet to receive my starter kit, an its been 3months, since I ordered it. I wanted to make everyone aware of some of the other one’s ripping people off, not only this one! I was doing research for my paper, but it is alot of people out there losing money in these SCAMS…thinking they are really getting a great deal! The old saying goes…Most of the time, if seems to good to be true, then more then likely it is to good to be TRUE!! I hope I have saved other consumers some money by sharing just a couple of the other scams, that I had found.
